FAQs

Footsteps and Handprints Pediatric Therapy is a physical, occupational, and speech therapy clinic serving Georgetown, Round Rock, Pflugerville, North Austin, Hutto and Cedar Park.

What is the process by which my child will receive therapy services?

The first step is to get a referral from your primary provider and have it faxed or emailed to our office. Our office staff will then contact you to set up an initial appointment. You will then be asked to complete an intake packet that includes providing basic information about your child, our policy forms, and insurance information. The evaluation takes approximately one hour. Once completed, an assessment report will be compiled with recommendations and sent to you and your child's physician. In some cases, prior authorization from the insurance company is also required, so the appropriate information will be provided to them as well. Once authorization is received, then therapy services can begin. The children receive a weekly appointment time based upon their therapist’s recommendation.

 Will insurance cover the services?

Footsteps and Handprints Pediatric Therapy accepts most of the major insurance companies. Insurance coverage for speech therapy, occupational therapy, and physical therapy varies widely depending on the policy purchased by you and/or your employer. Footsteps Pediatric will file the insurance directly for you and will assist with insurance appeals when necessary. Please contact the clinic or your insurance provider to discuss your specific policy and conditions for coverage. Footsteps and Handprints Pediatric Therapy offers many payment options including credit card payments for your convenience. The therapy is also eligible for reimbursement through pretax Medical Reimbursement Plans that your employer may offer.

Can I attend my child’s therapy sessions?

We value families participating during therapy sessions.  We encourage you to learn from our therapists, whether through observation during sessions or through feedback after sessions. In some circumstances, children work better in a one-on-one setting with the therapist. Together, we will decide what works best for your child.

Attendance Policy

Regular attendance of scheduled therapy sessions is crucial to your child's progress. Therefore, we ask that all families respect our "24 hour cancellation" policy and we require that all clients maintain 85% attendance so that we can best serve your child and help them reach their full potential.

What do I do if I need to cancel an appointment?

Please contact our office by texting our reschedule line (512-825-1961) with your child's name, and the date and time of the appointment you are cancelling. You may also call our office at 512-218-6955. Our office staff is available by phone Monday-Friday between 8am-12am and 1pm-5pm. Please leave a detailed message if you call us outside of those hours and they will return your call within 1 business day.

Hands down the best therapy provider around. Everyone is easy to work with and has a true passion for helping kids! My daughter has worked with Emily for the last 6 years and I feel that because of Emily’s hard work and dedication to my daughter, she has progressed in her abilities far more than she ever would have on her own.

We have been with three different clinics that offer PT/OT/ST, and I must say that Footsteps and Handprints is by far the best experience we have had. They go the extra mile in care. Their passion in their love for kids shows. Would not go anywhere else now.

Emily and her staff have been wildly amazing throughout our time with them! She was initially recommended because of her wide scope of therapy she offers. We have used Emily for PT, Kristin for PT, Hannah for OT, and Elaine for speech. We have had an amazing experience with all of them. My son is a whole different kid because of their time, experience, and care that they added to his life! Thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts!

We were overjoyed when we found Footsteps and Handprints Pediatric Therapy. Our daughter began therapies at six months of age. Is wasn’t an easy task trying to find therapists that connected and bonded with our daughter. Emily has been our daughter’s physical therapist for several years now. She pushes our daughter to work hard and not let any ‘dis’ ability slow her down. Her knowledge and experience in her field are amazing! We also began occupational therapy that the clinic recently started offering and we are very pleased thus far. I would recommend Emily and her entire therapist staff to anyone needing these services.
