FAQs
Footsteps and Handprints Pediatric Therapy is a physical, occupational, and speech therapy clinic serving Georgetown, Round Rock, Pflugerville, North Austin, Hutto and Cedar Park.
What is the process by which my child will receive therapy services?
The first step is to get a referral from your primary provider and have it faxed or emailed to our office. Our office staff will then contact you to set up an initial appointment. You will then be asked to complete an intake packet that includes providing basic information about your child, our policy forms, and insurance information. The evaluation takes approximately one hour. Once completed, an assessment report will be compiled with recommendations and sent to you and your child's physician. In some cases, prior authorization from the insurance company is also required, so the appropriate information will be provided to them as well. Once authorization is received, then therapy services can begin. The children receive a weekly appointment time based upon their therapist’s recommendation.
Will insurance cover the services?
Footsteps and Handprints Pediatric Therapy accepts most of the major insurance companies. Insurance coverage for speech therapy, occupational therapy, and physical therapy varies widely depending on the policy purchased by you and/or your employer. Footsteps Pediatric will file the insurance directly for you and will assist with insurance appeals when necessary. Please contact the clinic or your insurance provider to discuss your specific policy and conditions for coverage. Footsteps and Handprints Pediatric Therapy offers many payment options including credit card payments for your convenience. The therapy is also eligible for reimbursement through pretax Medical Reimbursement Plans that your employer may offer.
Can I attend my child’s therapy sessions?
We value families participating during therapy sessions. We encourage you to learn from our therapists, whether through observation during sessions or through feedback after sessions. In some circumstances, children work better in a one-on-one setting with the therapist. Together, we will decide what works best for your child.
Attendance Policy
Regular attendance of scheduled therapy sessions is crucial to your child's progress. Therefore, we ask that all families respect our "24 hour cancellation" policy and we require that all clients maintain 85% attendance so that we can best serve your child and help them reach their full potential.
What do I do if I need to cancel an appointment?
Please contact our office by texting our reschedule line (512-825-1961) with your child's name, and the date and time of the appointment you are cancelling. You may also call our office at 512-218-6955. Our office staff is available by phone Monday-Friday between 8am-12am and 1pm-5pm.
